A new genre of film, recreated from a fan’s memory, proving the films screened at the Melbourne International Film Festival are the kind that stay with you. The kind that outlive their running time in your memory. The kind that stay with you.
To prove this, we chose a fan of the festival to re-create a scene from a film he had seen at MIFF just once, sixteen years before. Working with a team of stylists, set designers and director Stephen McCallum, Keith relied solely on his memory of the film as he brought the ominous scene to life. Remarkably, Keith's rendition was strikingly similar to the original film, proving that Takashi Miike's Audition really did stay with him.
